Welcome to the Police Update for the last week.

The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries, catalytic converter and vehicle thefts reported between the 13th August 2026 to 20th August 2026. The report also includes information on arrests in the Borough.

Car Crime

Car Wing Mirror Glass Thefts

Last week (6th August to 13th August 2026) there were three reports of the theft of car wing mirror glass in the Reigate area.

Police advise that wing mirror glass theft is a targeted crime driven by the high resale value for replacement parts.

Police Crime Prevention Advice

Park Smart: Use secure, well-lit car parks or park close to walls and fences to make removing the mirror glass physically difficult.

Fold Mirrors: Always manually fold your wing mirrors in before leaving the vehicle unattended, even on your own driveway.

Security Marking: Etch or postcode-mark your vehicle registration or postcode onto the mirror glass using a special kit or UV pen to make stolen glass hard to sell on.

CCTV and Lighting: Park within view of home security cameras or motion-activated security lights if leaving your car on the street or driveway overnight.

This week there has been 3 reports of a suspected theft from car and 0 reports of attempts to gain access to vehicles. 0 reports of license plates being stolen.

Arrests.

There were 45 arrests in the period August 13th 2026 to August 19th 2026:

Domestic Incident/Violent Domestic Abuse 14, Rape/Sexual Offence 1, Drugs 2, Prescribed Limit 3, Violent Crime in a Public Place 1, Violent Crime other 5, Harassment/Stalking 2, Crime Public Order 1, Child Protection 1, Crime Other 1, Immigration 1, Theft 1, Burglary Residential 1, Master Occurrence 7*, Road Related 2, Non-Notifiable Offence 1.

Assault on Police 1.

*A Master Occurrence is used when recording an arrest where a number of offences are recorded for one incident.

Personal Fraud (Scams) in the Borough.

Records show that there have been 4 reports of Personal Fraud in the Borough during the last week. These include a report of a Bank Fraud and a Concert Ticket Website Fraud.

Burglaries

North

18/08/2026 Between 01:45 to 01:47. Amber Close, Epsom Downs. Attempted Residential Burglary. Method of Entry – Attempted entry through a door to the property.

Stolen: Nothing taken. (PR 45260100518)

Central

19/08/2026 Between 15:00 to 17:00. Conifer Close, Reigate. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Forced entry into the garage.

Stolen: Three Motorcycles (All recovered). (PR 45260101056)

14/08/2026 Between 02:43 to 03:00. Croydon Road, Reigate. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Entry has been gained into the garage.

Stolen: A number of hand tools, including a Dewalt Hedge Trimmer, Dewalt Circular Saw and a Dewalt Angle Grinder. (PR 45260101263)

South

Between 13/08/2026 12:45 to 22/08/2026 18:00. Consort Way, Horley. Residential Garage Burglary. Method of Entry – Entry has been gained into the garage.

Stolen: A toolbox containing tools. (PR 45260102522)
